This 18x24 poster was a collaboration with my band mate. We discussed ideas, sent concepts back and forth, and fined tuned each other’s ideas, finally settling on a movie poster type design. My main contribution was in the titles and copy and badge. I performed the color separations as it’s being printed with four spot colors; the yellow is a Pantone metallic gold. For the VIP badge, I created and added the autographs of each band member, and the lanyard uses a popular logo I designed as well.
These are so much fun to work on. I created Strictly Hip jerseys. The Tragically Hip have many references to hockey in their songs, so naturally, hockey themed ideas go over very well with our fans. The idea is we created 100 jerseys and for the back, using numbers 0-99, but only once. Making each piece unique. The Oilers logo was our first design, and we sold all 100. The follow up design is the black one on the left side. We wanted it to be a little more unique so I took some inspiration from the old Minnesota North Stars logo, but used the Sabres black and red color scheme. I like to incorporate both stars and maple leafs to represent the nationality of the members of our band. So far, these new designs have been very well received!
I created each of these designs for sale at Strictly Hip concerts. Each logo I created new and we use in other elements/merch as well. The most recent design is the top left black tee with the buffalo. This just became available. The top right design is our most popular and we continually reprint it as it does very well.
This was an idea that never really made it very far, but I'm proud of these little guys, and I learned a lot about Adobe Character Animator. I created each member of the band in Illustrator, and then imported them into Character Animator. I made an animation to promote a show with Bruce and that video is below.
This was the project referenced above with the band characters I created. Not only did I edit this with Premiere, I got my feet wet with Adobe Character Animator. I had a blast creating not only the characters, but this video as well! Bruce (in the video) was a great sport and recorded an audio clip of himself speaking, and I edited the rest.
Back in 2020 during the covid lock-downs, the band couldn't perform. One idea we had to try and provide our fans with a little hope and smiles was our little series called "Hip Distancing". Each of us recorded our own part at home. Afterwards, everyone emailed his video to me, and I assembled them in Premiere and mixed them down. We did a total of 3 of these and went over very well with our fans.
