Truth Be Told - Board Game

I created this board game while at Buffalo Games. It was Buffalo Games’ first ever game developed in-house. I did not work on the graphics on this. I was the lead designer, so I play-tested, wrote the content on the cards, and wrote the “how-to-play” instructions. Target bought this game and had it for sale in their stores. It had about $4 million in sales.

Phone Frenzy - Board Game

Phone Frenzy was another board game (licensed this from an inventor) I worked on. This was without a doubt the most challenging project I worked on at Buffalo Games as I didn't believe this game was going to be successful. That didn't change how I approached it, however, and I tackled it with a full head of steam. I made the best decisions I could with fun and replay-ability in mind at all times. I was in charge of the complete game experience: creating its content, play testing, and graphics. This game unfortunately didn't last long on the shelf, but the experience of working on this proved to be tremendously valuable from a professional level.

This is the complete press sheet for all the content I had to create and play test, a total of one hundred and ten cards in 4 categories.

The top press sheet is the packaging and instruction sheet. We wanted to save on costs so I had to work to fit the instructions in the space remaining after the packaging size was determined. The bottom press sheet is the game board fitting seven boards. These were mounted to board and then die cut into two pieces to fit into the box.

This last image depicts the extra elements that had to be considered. The top left image is the die for the game board. The game board had to be die cut into two pieces to fit into the box. The top right image is the "Contact Sheet" in which players kept track of who they called during the game. This was printed and glued like a note pad. And then the bottom image is the tray that houses all the elements. The sand timer lived in the die cut on the left and card stack lived in the slot on the bottom.
